Ms. Angela Byrd

Ms. Angela Byrd is the Founder and serves as the President of the Free School Community Children & Family Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation dedicated to supporting children and families through educational initiatives and community outreach.

She is a dedicated community leader, Army veteran, and retired Department of the Army civilian with a lifelong commitment to service. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, she immigrated first to England and later to the United States, experiences that shaped her global perspective and deep appreciation for diverse communities.

Angela was raised between Free School in Port Antonio, Jamaica; Leicester, England; and Irvington, New Jersey—communities that instilled in her resilience, cultural awareness, and a passion for giving back. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Florida Atlantic University and a Master of Science in Human Services from Capella University.

Through both her military and civilian service, as well as her nonprofit leadership, Angela remains committed to empowering underserved communities and creating meaningful opportunities for future generations.
